Watch: First Emirati student to join an Israeli university hopes to be a cultural ambassador

Dubai: Growing up, Emirati student Mansoor Mohamed Bin Shamekh Al Marzooqi never imagined he would pursue his higher education in Israel.
Today, he has made history by becoming the first Emirati student to get admission in an Israeli university.
Mansoor, 19, has joined Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya, one of Israel’s leading academic institutes, to pursue BA in Government in which he will study public policy, diplomacy, foreign policy and strategy. On Sunday, top officials congratulated Mansoor on his achievement, calling it an important development in UAE-Israel ties.
While many Emirati students are now keen to study in Israel following the Abraham Accords that normalised the ties between the two countries, Mansoor took the first step after being influenced by the warmth of the friendship of a Jewish family. ....

Cape Town - A Hanover Park dental couple expressed a great sense of relief after they received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at Tygerberg Hospital last week.
Mansoor Mohamed and Andrea Mohamed Jacobs, who are general dental practitioners at the Hanover Park Community Day Centre, were vaccinated against Covid-19 on March 1.
Provincial dental services have been limited in the metro since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, with only emergency dental care rendered.
Dental staff were particularly at high risk due to working in close proximity to patients’ mouths, where there was a risk of becoming infected through coughing and sneezing and via droplets in the air. Although dental staff were provided with personal protective equipment, the risk remained. ....

Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji waded into uncharted waters when he executed a decision to legally hand over a Kenyan citizen to the US to face charges of wildlife trafficking.
On August 13 last year, a sealed brown envelope marked ‘URGENT’ landed on Haji’s desk. In it was a confidential document from Attorney General Kihara Kariuki’s office, requesting that he should move to court to seek orders to extradite Mansur Mohamed Surur.
Mansur, 60, had been arrested two week earlier and taken to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Court on July 30 as orders were sought to hold him. ....

Assange Will Rot in Prison, Snowden in Exile, Because Trump Is Too Busy Pardoning Criminals

Assange Will Rot in Prison, Snowden in Exile, Because Trump Is Too Busy Pardoning Criminals
Published: December 17, 2020
The United States has a heinous record when it comes to committing war crimes. Even more heinous, however, is the fact that commander in chief after commander in chief continue to pardon those convicted of these unspeakable acts. As whistleblowers like Julian Assange and Edward Snowden rot in prison or exile, military personnel who’ve slaughtered civilians are receiving pardon after pardon. President Donald Trump has continued to walk down this shameful road by pardoning war criminals.
Since taking office on January 20, 2017, Donald Trump has granted executive clemency to 45 individuals charged or convicted of federal criminal offenses. From low level fraudsters to media moguls to racketeers, Trump has used his executive power to overturn the convictions of dozens of criminals. Most notable, however are his pardons for war criminals, while whistleb ....
