No airmail delivered to Island
Fri, 22 Jan 2021 Isle of Man Post Office says its due to circumstances beyond its control . Any Special Delivery, Parcelforce24 and other mail is is due to arrive on Island later this afternoon and priority items will be delivered tomorrow.

Isle of Man welcomes in Year of the Ox with triangular stamps
The new stamp set was designed to celebrate the Chinese New Year, and marks the first time a triangular shape has been used by any British postal administration 07/01/2021 9:30 am
The Isle of Man Post Office is marking the Chinese Year of the Ox, which begins on February 12, with a new set of endearing stamps designed by Manx artist Jay Cover. One of the stamps contains a nod to the ancient myth of the race between creatures to determine the order of the 12-year cycle in the Chinese zodiac calendar – a race in which the rat (which was last year’s zodiac) leapt past the ox to become the first creature in the cycle.
International and Europe mail services have now resumed as normal

Royal Mail and Parcelforce services to Europe and international destinations have been reopened and are now fully operational.
The Post office has advised that for items posted on the 29th and 30th December, customers should expect a delay of up to 2 working days. Any mail Isle of Man Post Office or Integrated Mailing Solutions were securely holding from the 22nd December will be dispatched this evening.
It also stated: ’As a reminder, there is no collection or dispatch of mail from the Island on the 31st December 2020.

David Cretney was the longest-serving member of Tynwald when he retired in February.
The Manx Labour Party politician was elected as an MHK for South Douglas in 1985, winning the seat in six general elections.
He went on to become a minister in a number of departments and was elected to the Legislative Council in 2015 and served one term there.
