Unprecedented numbers of parcels are being delivered in the run-up to Christmas.
But a backlog at UK sorting offices means there have been delays.
Isle of Man Post Office says its staff are working hard to deliver customers’ parcels in time for Christmas, amid the challenges of exceptional high volumes of parcels, and the significantly increased uptake of online shopping this year.
It said this is a challenge for all British logistics companies.
Throughout the year since Covid-19 lockdowns both here and across, parcels and packet volumes have been much higher because more customers are using online shopping for convenience and in some cases, through necessity.

Royal Mail and Parcelforce has suspended deliveries to mainland Europe, Canada and Turkey after countries stopped flights and freight rom the UK over fears of the new coronavirus variant. with immediate effect. Isle of Man Post Office says any items already posted will be held but they are unable to accept any further items at this time. Anyone need further information is advised to contact the Customer Services Team on 664664.

Suspended mail from Island to be securely held in UK IoMPO suspends services due to Royal Mail and Parcelforce partners
Any mail from the Island to Europe, Turkey and Canada, will be held in the UK until further notice.
That s from the Isle of Man Post Office, which has suspended services to these destinations after partners Royal Mail and Parcelforce have done the same.
It s as a number of countries have closed their borders to the UK following the discovery of a new, more infectious, mutation of Covid-19.

Data revealed in Tuesday’s House of Keys shows that there has been a decline in MiCard users collecting pensions and social security payments.
Minister for Treasury Alf Cannan responded to Chris Thomas (Douglas Central) via written answer, stating that Isle of Man Post Office is contractually bound to provide MiCard services until December 2022.
The trends of those using either BACS (Bankers’ Automated Clearing System) or MiCard collections showed that in September 2016, there were 7,079 (20.6%) using MiCards and 27,367 (79.4%) who received BACS payments. In September of this year, 31,927 (85.6%) had BACS transfers and 5,360 (14.4%) used MiCards.
