Building Inclusivity Into Employee Benefits
While it’s a crucial step, experts say promoting an inclusive workplace entails more than offering benefits to different employee demographics.

Plan sponsors are increasingly promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in their benefits packages, a survey from Willis Towers Watson has found.
According to Willis Tower Watson’s “Emerging Trends in Health Care Survey,” four-fifths of the 446 employers that responded said they would take steps to promote DEI in their workplace culture and policies over the next three years, compared with 55% that took measures in the past three years. Additionally, seven in 10 employers indicated they would promote DEI-related aspects of their benefit programs and well-being programs throughout the coming three years. ....

A Samarkand court fined Shia Muslim Rashid Ibrahimov about two weeks average wages for having Shia religious material on his mobile phone. The phone was confiscated. A court official said Shia Muslims were punished because of the Religion Law. A prisoner of conscience jailed for exercising freedom of religion and belief has been tortured with beatings on the soles of his feet. Another prisoner of conscience, Tulkun Astanov, has been given medical treatment, but his current location is unknown.
Police in Samarkand replaced Criminal Code charges against Shia Muslim Rashid Ibrahimov with Administrative Code charges. On 25 March, a Samarkand court fined him about two weeks average wages for having Shia religious material on his mobile phone. The phone was ordered to be taken as state property. Ibrahimov – in line with the international human rights law the regime is obliged to respect – has told his friends that he does not thin ....

Expert while speaking at a webinar on Saturday urged the governments to reactivate the South Asia Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to curb the militancy and terrorisms, bilateral conflicts and transboundary challenges confronting the region because of climate change. Islamabad : Expert while speaking at a webinar on Saturday urged the governments to reactivate the South Asia Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to curb the militancy and terrorisms, bilateral conflicts and transboundary challenges confronting the region because of climate change.

The panel of experts urged the non-democratic forces to give a chance to people to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions within their countries. Democracy ensures basic human rights that lead to peace in a society. But, unfortunately the hegemonic approaches and decision making of the governments have excluded the voices of the people.
