Brown Sugar Seized In Cuttack: Six Peddlers Held With Seizure of Sedatives

Cuttack: A team of Markat Nagar police on Wednesday night arrested six persons from CDA Sector 6 area in connection with brown sugar peddling. The arrested were booked under the NDPS Act and remanded in judicial custody.
The accused were identified as Abid Khan of Darghabazar, Nilakantha Naik of Khalikot, Baidyanath Behera of Chaudhari Bazar, Manas Ranjan Naik of Nayagarh, Sushil Mohanty of Kalyani Nagar and Pramod Naik of Mangalabag.
Police sources said 233 grams of brown sugar worth nearly 23 lakh were seized from their possession.
The police also seized 78 strips of N-10 tablets and other sedatives, cash amounting to Rs 31,500, four motor cycles, six mobile phones and a mixer grinder. ....
