KP NAB initiates probe into sugar export to Afghanistan scam National May 24, 2021 PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (KP) has initiated a probe into a mega sugar export scandal in which sugar mill owners exported less sugar from their allotted quota to Afghanistan and sold it in Pakistan, causing huge loss to the national exchequer. Sugar mill owners and exporters illegally sold sugar in Pakistan and made huge profits due to tax exemptions. According to sources, sugar exporters allegedly had claimed waiver of sales and income tax on the entire allocated export quota of sugar on the basis of the forged and fake documents with the connivance of customs officials.

GMC&AHs Jammu facing acute shortage of faculty, Gazetted/N-G staff Only 30 pc Super Specialists, 70 pc faculty in place Govind Sharma JAMMU, Apr 1: Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals (GMC&AHs) Jammu have been facing acute shortage of faculty members as well as gazetted and non-gazetted staff including paramedics, nurses, technicians and Class IV staff. Official sources told Excelsior that GMC&AHs Jammu which cater to the whole population of Jammu region have been working with only 70% faculty while 30 percent of the sanctioned posts are lying vacant. They said what is more surprising is that these 70 % faculty members have been managing 1100 beds in GMC Jammu against the notified bed capacity of 900.
