Ownership of Flintstone Park transferred to city at no cost

The Mattagami Region Conservation Authority (MRCA) has transferred ownership of Flintstone Park to the City of Timmins, while maintaining an easement along Town Creek.
The transaction, at no cost to the city, thanks to a donation from Kirkland Lake Gold, was one of a number of land transfers between the two organizations finalized during Tuesday’s virtual council meeting.

City council dealt with a number of planning department-related issues during its April 27 meeting, including the sale of a parcel of land at 84 Bruce Ave. in South Porcupine.
The property in question, the former site of the Central Tavern, was declared surplus to the needs of the municipality by council back in February.
