New Delhi: The farmers’ unions protesting against the Centre’s agricultural reform laws on Sunday decided to go ahead with their proposed tractor parade in the national capital on Republic Day. The decision by the unions has come just a day before the Supreme Court will hear the Centre’s petition seeking an injunction against the proposed tractor rally or any other kind of protest that seeks to disrupt the celebrations on January 26. ....

Farmers can ask what they want besides withdrawal of farm laws, says Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Sunday said the farmers can tell government what they want besides withdrawal of the farm laws .

The government on Sunday stood by it s stand that it will not repeal the new farm laws and urged the protesting farmers to hold a clause-by-clause discussion on the agricultural reform in the next round of meeting January 19.
This comes after the government and protesting farmers on Friday held ninth round of talks on the farm laws but could not reach a decisive stage and later agreed to meet on January 19. The government had then asked farmer unions to form an informal group among themselves and prepare concrete proposals that will be taken up for discussion in the next meeting. New Delhi: Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, Haryana convenor Mandip Nathwan on Sunday dispelled rumours that farmers protesting against the new farm laws would unfurl the Tricolour at Red Fort and that tractors and tanks would roll together on Republic Day. 
It s being said that farmers would unfurl tricolour at Red Fort and tractors and tanks would roll together (on January 26). No such programme has been finalised by the Morcha. Such statements are not in interests of farmers, he said. ....
