Reaction is mixed to the idea of the Maritimes helping Ontario through a devastating third wave of COVID-19.
The prime minister has asked the premiers to look at re-allocating resources to the largest province and leaders in the Maritime provinces are looking into whether they can help without jeopardizing the health and safety of their citizens.

Chad Otterstrom judges 'unreal' Natural Selection snowboard event in Jackson Hole

While driving back from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on Wednesday afternoon, Summit County snowboarding legend Chad Otterstrom reflected on the Natural Selection competition he just judged and contextualized what the acclaimed event could mean for the sport moving forward.
“I haven’t had my eyes peeled to a contest like that since I first started watching snowboarding as a kid,” Otterstrom said. “It gave me that kind of excitement.”
Twenty-four hours earlier, Mark McMorris of Canada and Zoi Sadowski-Synnott of New Zealand were crowned champions of the two-day tournament. During the competition, Otterstrom a veteran judge of X Games, Burton U.S. Open and Dew Tour joined Sandy MacDonald and Connor Manning as the event’s judging triumvirate. ....

Slave trade links of Scotland's Glenfinnan memorial revealed


The National Trust for Scotland (NTS), the charity that owns Glenfinnan and many of Scotland’s best-known historic sites, is now rewriting its literature and displays at the memorial, including relabelling a scale model of the Du Teillay to give prominence to those slavery links.
A large portrait of Bonnie Prince Charlie at Glenfinnan visitor centre is being replaced in early 2021 by a new display detailing those links and new research that has uncovered significant ties between many Highland estate owners and slave plantations across the Americas.
In a strange collision of historic and contemporary cultures, Glenfinnan is also one of Scotland’s most popular tourist destinations because its nearby railway viaduct features heavily in Harry Potter films: it was the backdrop to Harry’s flying car and used by the Hogwarts school train. ....
