Three soldiers assigned to the Army Albany Recruiting Battalion, headquartered at the Watervliet Arsenal, have been inducted in the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club in recognition of them being outstanding noncommissioned officers.

More than 100 Vermont Guard soldiers to deploy Wednesday

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) More than 100 Vermont National Guard soldiers will be deploying to multiple locations on Wednesday.
The soldiers are mostly from the 572nd Brigade Engineer Battalion and the 1st Squadron, 172nd Cavalry (Mountain), the Guard said.
They will be going to multiple locations across the U.S. Africa command, the Guard said, but did not specify where.
The deployment is anticipated to last about a year, said Maj. Scott Detweiler, the acting state public affairs officer for the Vermont National Guard.
“These soldiers have been preparing for over a year as part of about 950 Vermont Army National Guard Soldiers deploying across U.S. European, U.S. African and U.S. Central Commands throughout the first half of 2021,” the Guard said in a news release. ....
