The Biden campaign announced on Nov. 30 that Tony Allen, former Biden speechwriter and the President of Delaware State University, will serve as the chief executive officer of the inaugural committee. Maju Varghese, a Biden campaign advisor, will serve as the executive director. Yvanna Cancela, a Nevada state senator, and Erin Wilson, a Biden campaign staffer, will serve as deputy executive directors. Biden’s transition team also launched an inauguration website BidenInaugural.org and a new Twitter handle. ....
Text Size: A+ New Delhi: A crowdfunding campaign to help the family of a Pakistani immigrant and Uber Eats driver, who was killed in a carjacking incident in Washington DC last week, has managed to raise over $1 million in donations so far. According to a GoFundMe page, set up by a relative of 66-year-old Mohammad Anwar, an amount of $1,051,250 has been raised via donations. GoFundMe is an American for-profit crowding platform. Anwar’s family hoped to raise $100,000 to meet funeral and other expenses. “Anwar was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who always provided a smile when you needed one. He leaves behind a family, near and far, who cherish, love, and miss him dearly,” states the Go Fund Me page. ....
