Members from various organisations, including We are Cycling and Mangalore Bikerni Group, took part in cycling, beach cleaning and surf rescue training sessions organised by Team Big Bang at the Tannnirbhavi beach on Sunday.
The team Big Bang organised these events under the programme ‘Big Bang 2k21’ with the help of Yojaka (India) Pvt. Ltd., which maintains the beach. The programme was held, among other reasons, to promote healthy living, tourism and maintaining clean beaches. ....

A host of events comprising beach cleaning, bike stunts, surfing, cardio-pulmonary resurrection, zumba, beach workouts and cycling have been organised by team Big Bang and like-minded organisations in Mangaluru on Sunday.
According to a communiqué from ‘We R Cycling’, one of the organisations supporting the event, the programme would be held at the Pine Tree Tannirbhavi Beach, off Sultan Bathery Ferry Line, from 6.30 am to 11 a.m. Mayor Divakar would be the chief guest at the programme.
Those riding bicycles would assemble in front of Mangala Stadium and start towards Tannirbhavi at 6.30 a.m. or in the alternative, they may directly ride to the venue. Participants are advised to bring a pair of gloves and drinking water. ....

Over 50 cyclists, from four-and-a-half year old Samyuktha to 62-year-old Joseph Pereira, joined hands with Mangaluru City Police to create awareness against drug abuse here on Sunday.
Team WeRCycling, an association of professional riders, organised the rally to support the police in their initiative to spread the message against drug abuse.
The rally, which was flagged off at Mangala Stadium, passed through Lady Hill Circle, Lal Bagh, PVS Buildings, Bunts Hostel Circle, St. Agnes Institutions and M.G. Road before culminating at the start venue. Samyuktha, who rode confidently with WERC’s Harniish Raj, was the centre of attraction. A few cyclists, including Mr. Periera and Gururaj Krishnamurthy, joined the rally soon after completing their 400 km Mangaluru-Kumta-Mangaluru Brevet ear ....
