Akhtaruzzaman today urged teachers, researchers and students of the
university to hold the philosophy and strong values of world renowned
scientist Satyendra Nath Bose while conducting research to take the
university to a unique height.
“Bose was a dedicated teacher and researcher in the field of
science, especially in basic research and teaching of physics. After
the founding of DU in 1921, Professor SN Bose came in contact with the
world-renowned scientist Albert Einstein within a few years through
his extraordinary research activities”, said Akhtaruzzaman.

DU ex-teacher donates 100 books to his departmentâs library

DHAKA, Jan 3, 2020 (BSS) â AHM Mostafizur Rahman, a retired professor of Dhaka Universityâs (DU) soil, water and environment department, has donated 100 books to the departmentâs seminar library aiming to sparkle the light of knowledge among the students marking the centenary of the university.
To let the students, teachers and researchers use the books in their academic and research activities, the professor gifted the books at the virtual event today, said a press release.
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal addressed the virtual event as the chief guest while DU Teacher Association (DUTA) General Secretary Dr Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan and Treasurer of DU Alumni Association (DUAA) Rashidul Hasan attended as special guests, with chairmen of the department Dr Khalilur Rahman in the chair. ....

DHAKA, Jan 1, 2021 (BSS) – Experts at a virtual discussion have underscored the need for strengthening effective supply chain management with special focus on the cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) for developing the sector.
They made the observation at the discussion on “Empathy for Strengthening Effective Supply Chain Management with special focus on CMSMES” held on Wednesday, said a press release today.
Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ICE) Center at University of Dhaka organised the discussion.

DHAKA, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman today said members of Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) should depict the actual scenario before the nation maintaining objectivity.
“Students of the university who work as university correspondents for different media houses during their academic life play a pioneering role in media industries after their academic life. When we met the media persons, they applauded the expertise and quality of our students, especially those who did campus reporting”, he said.
