After losing to South Korean pair of Ji Sung Nam and Min-Kyu Song in their first-round men s doubles clash, India s Rohan Bopanna and his Japanese partner Ben McLachlan crashed out of the Australian Open. The South Korean player to the competition won the match 4-6 6-7(0) in one hour and 17 minutes. Koreans duo dominated the game since the starting of the match as Bopanna lost his serve in the opening set and that initial break stayed with the opponents. It was expected to be an easy match for the Indo-Japanese pair but the good coordination of the lower-ranked Koreans made it tough for them. Bopanna and McLachlan struggled with returns as Song and Nam easily smashed volley winners to stay ahead. The second set saw both teams stay solid with their serves and provide the other team barely any chance to break. With the score at 6-6, the tie-breaker was forced.
