Ali Guenther said she was lying awake in bed recently when the idea to bring back a COVID-friendly way to celebrate senior year came to her.
“I was like, ‘We should have a car parade,’” said the 18-year-old, soon to be a Port Huron Northern graduate.
“‘How did you even go about starting it?’” Ali recalled asking. “And she was like, ‘Girl, make a Facebook page. People will join it.’”
And they did. As of early last week, nearly 250 had RSVP’d to the May 22 celebration, which will follow Port Huron’s traditional parade route through the city’s downtown ending at Pine Grove Park.
