Great opportunity for Vietnam's semiconductor industry

The scarcity of chip supply that began in late 2020 has affected most manufacturing industries.
The era of IoT opens new opportunities for Vietnam s semiconductor industry.
In 1970-1980, late professor Tran Dai Nghia cherished a plan to build a semiconductor industry in Vietnam. He ordered a production line of Thomson-CFS (the predecessor of Thales Group, France), but due to poor infrastructure, supporting industries and logistics at that time, his efforts were unable to deliver the desired results.
Later, Dr. Dang Luong Mo (a reputable Vietnamese scientist in the microchip field in the world) also gave many enthusiastic proposals and projects with the desire to build a foundation for the microchip industry in Vietnam, but the results were modest. However, his research works have contributed to opening a new direction for the fledgling microchip industry in Vietnam. ....

'Chinese privilege not as appropriate to use in S'pore' says Chan Heng Chee, but minorities face 'institutional racism'


Although Singapore s longest-serving ambassador to the U.S. Chan Heng Chee acknowledged that minorities in Singapore experienced racism, she believes that the Chinese privilege term is not as appropriate in the local context, given its history.
Chan, Ambassador-at-Large and Chair of the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities in the Singapore University of Technology and Design weighed in with her thoughts on the matter during a panel discussion organised by the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS).

Idea of Chinese privilege is 'intellectual scarcity': S'porean panelist at IPS forum


Cancel culture, intersectionality, and Chinese privilege these were some of the buzzwords that came up during a discussion by a group of speakers and panellists on the topic of Identities and Cohesion , as part of the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) annual forum, Singapore Perspectives, on Jan. 14, 2021.
Moderator Mathew Mathews, a Principal Research Fellow and Head of Social Lab at IPS, brought up the topic of Chinese privilege within Singapore, and how the concept is an importation of ideas from the United States.
