H.E. Mr. Volkan Bozkir, President of the UN General Assembly, organized the UN’s first-ever High-Level Thematic Debate on Connectivity and Digital Cooperation. My topline conclusions from yesterday’s event are:

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is a key priority for MSF OCBA. We are looking for a
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead that will advance our initiatives for improved diversity, equity and inclusion within the organization and our field operations. The DEI lead reports to the MSF OCBA General Director and works closely with field teams, DEI focal points in all departments, the Behavior Unit, the Regional offices and in tandem with the DEI/culture referent in the HR Department and the People Centered Approach referent in Operations. ....

UM Dearborn 'closed the door' on remote proctoring

At the same time many other colleges were considering whether to employ the technologies, UM Dearborn’s leadership made the choice that eproctoring was unacceptably invasive, at least when it comes to students who hadn’t signed up for that kind of surveillance.
The provost’s office at UM Dearborn sent a message to all faculty last April strongly discouraging them from using remote proctoring. In addition to noting that some eproctoring services charge students directly, adding unanticipated costs, the message said that some students “are demonstrably uncomfortable with what they perceive as an invasion of privacy by e-proctoring solutions.” ....
