Joy Elementary has undergone several operational changes to create a safer day-to-day experience for students attending in-person education.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - It’s been 3 months since schools reopened to in-person education in the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District. Due to COVID, some changes have been made to create a safer learning environment for students.
Since reopening in January, Joy Elementary school has modified its class schedule to minimize contact between different classes of students.

Twenty-two years ago, an automobile accident blinded Tupelo s Teneiske Necy McGaha. Although the accident took her sight, she said it also lead to a spiritual awakening. She now has a young daughter, Layla Spratt, shown, and a renewed sense of purpose.Â
