Why did you decide to run for the McKinney ISD board of trustees? MM: To continue to serve all students and their families and to continue serving as MISD Board of Trustees Board Place 1. How has your experience prepared you for board service? MM: I was appointed to serve on MISD board Place 1 to complete Leonard Evans term. I had big shoes to fill and was honored to be selected to serve as the first Hispanic trustee in MISD. Coach Evans spoke to me and gave me the confidence that I had what it took to represent our community in Place 1 because of my involvement with my community. I have learned so much from our current and past board members. We all have different backgrounds but each board member brings different perspectives to the table. I’m not an educator, banker etc. I’m a community member that was born and raised in McKinney with a voice that can make a difference and provide a different perspective to our MISD district. ....
