Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 13 (ANI): Amid the ongoing border row between Maharashtra and Karnataka, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday alleged that Marathi people residing in Karnataka s Belgaum were being attacked and said that an all-party delegation from Maharashtra should visit the region.
Raut also attacked the BJP-led central government, saying that the Centre has turned a blind eye towards the problem and is only concerned about poll-bound West Bengal.
The BJP and Centre are concerned about violence in West Bengal and that their people are being attacked. No one is talking about the attack on Marathi people for the last eight days. I appeal to the Chief Minister, Deputy CM to go to Belgaum with an all-party delegation to support our people, said Raut. ....

The decades-old border dispute between Maharashtra and Karnataka escalated into a political slugfest on Wednesday as both states hit out at each other for raking up the issue with claims and counter-claims.
Karnataka’s deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi said Mumbai should be made part of his state, and urged the Centre to at least declare it a Union Territory. His suggestion came after Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray raised the border issue at a public event, demanding that the disputed areas be carved out into a union territory till differences are resolved. ....

Bengaluru: Hours after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray accused the Karnataka government of deliberately changing the name of the disputed Belagavi district to Belgaum, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi on Wednesday demanded that Mumbai should be included as a part of the southern state.
While demanding that the financial capital of the country be made a part of Karnataka, Savadi said, The people of this region, as well as I, demand that Mumbai should be included in Karnataka. Until that is done, I demand the Central government to declare Mumbai as a Union Territory. ....

Mumbai, Jan 27 : Demanding a time-bound programme to resolve the complicated boundary row between his state and Karnataka, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday reiterated his plea to declare the disputed border areas as a Union Territory till the final verdict of the Supreme Court.
What has happened has happened. Now we have to fight and win. We will have to work for this in a time-bound programme, said Thackeray, who is also President of the Shiv Sena, which is espousing the cause of the Marathi-speaking people in the border areas since years. ....
