PRINCETON A Bluefield man is suing Bluefield State College alleging it failed to provide him with disability benefits.
The Bluefield State College Board of Governors and Standard Insurance Company were also named as defendants in the suit.
Daniel L. Frost was employed by the defendants for several years and participated in the defendants long-term disability insurance coverage, according to a complaint filed in Mercer Circuit Court.
Frost claims he had surgery on Feb. 28, 2018, involving his cervical spine and for treatment of cervical spondylolysis and myelopathy, however, after the surgery, he was unable to return to work and filed for long-term disability. His employment was then terminated.
