Grab-n-Go Craft: Stained glass flowers craft offered May 24 to May 29
ROCKLAND  Visit Rockland Public Library to pick up a bag of supplies to make a “stained glass” flower.
This craft is for kids and adults. Join June 7 to June 12 for another craft.
1. Visit the Rockland Library Children’s Room for a bag of supplies.
2. Get crafting at home with the contact paper and color gels included.
3. Place in a window to add color to any home.

President Biden has said that Wall Street did not build the country. I disagree. This country was built on collaboration by Capital and Labor. Without Wall Street and its predecessors, the U.S. based on English common law and representative government likely would not be.
The Jamestown and Plymouth colonies were financed by stock companies! The Virginia Company refers collectively to two joint-stock companies chartered under James I on April 10, 1606, the London Company and the Plymouth Company. The London Company founded Jamestown in 1607. The Plymouth Company established the Popham Colony in Maine. It was abandoned and the Plymouth Company became inactive. A successor company eventually established a permanent settlement in 1620 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. ....

When I heard about the first pirate known to have cruised Maine waters, images came to mind of Hollywood’s Jack Sparrow or one of the blood-thirsty characters from a Robert Louis Stevens novel or the iconic illustrations of N.C. Wyeth. But the actual story of Maine’s first pirate Dixey Bull does not easily fit into this kind of popular mythology. ....
