A man of progressive worldview, professional excellence, creative intellect and unflinching commitment to the cause of secularism, democracy and socialism, he fought against all kinds of oppressions and discriminations and worked for the emancipation of the downtrodden. The Making of Ambedkarite Public Culture : Spatiality and Expressions of Dalits' Conscientising Space in Mumbai, circa 1920s–1940s


Public culture is a mental and physical space where basic ideas of the self and world view get crystallised. It is the main space to form varied communicative lines. These communicative lines discipline person’s behaviour. Since the Dalit’s ideas about self and consciousness were largely shaped by their everyday experience, Ambedkar thoughtfully evolved the Dalit’s public culture towards conscientising mental and physical space. A number of nodal points in varied communicative lines were generated to cultivate the autonomous Dalit assertive self and emancipatory world view. It produced an atmosphere where social discursive engagements were developed along with Ambedkarite praxis. As Mumbai happens to be the place where Ambedkar conceived, started and developed the key emancipatory movements, the city turned out to be a precursor for the “Ambedkarite public culture.” ....

After being accused by Andy Ngo of defamation, Gregory McKelvey indicated that he has no plans to apologize or retract his statements.
The war of words between prominent left- and right-wing voices could turn into another legal battle.
Lawyers for author Andy Ngo claim political consultant Gregory McKelvey made false and defamatory statements during the run-up to the publication of Ngo s first book, Unmasked, a less than flattering look at the local anti-fascists known as antifa.
McKelvey had panned Powell s Books for keeping Ngo s tome for sale online though the bookseller pledged not to stock physical copies on its shelves in response to protests with McKelvey writing in a Jan. 11 tweet that Ngo provided kill lists to Neo-Nazis, rioted with far-right activists at a local bar and consistently and purposely puts people s lives in danger. ....
