I think the major point of concern should be how to ensure that the retrenched workers are paid off handsomely and expediently.
It is my hope that NLC, the Kaduna State House of Assembly members and other relevant stakeholders would re-channel their focus and energies towards ensuring that Kaduna State government (KDSG) fulfills its promise of expediting the payment of benefits to those entitled following the rightsizing.
Kaduna had recently dominated the news after the country’s main labour group, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), instituted an industrial action in the State, shutting it down for three days. The Lagos State Government says its World Bank-assisted Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement, Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project will construct 13.16km Farm Access Roads (FARs) in four cluster areas.
The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, said this on Thursday during the activities to commemorate the second year of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
Ms Olusanya noted that the four farm cluster areas are in Igbodu in Epe, Araga also in Epe, Erinkorodo in Ikorodu and Afowo in Badagry. ....

Lagos State government has said it plans to construct and rehabilitate no fewer than 13.16km of farm access roads in four cluster areas across the state.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya, made this known at a press briefing in commemoration of the 2nd year in office of the Sanwo-Olu’s administration, saying the exercise would be carried out under the state government’s World Bank-assisted Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project.
According to the commissioner, the access roads when completed would aid better movement to and from the farms; reduce losses particularly by egg farmers occasioned by broken eggs as a result of bad road and subsequently improve the productivity of the concerned farmers. ....

Lagos State Government, through its World Bank-assisted Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support, APPEALS, Project, said out of identified and verified 9,942 farmers and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, SMEs, 8,156 of them had received series of training in relevant areas of agribusiness with a view to enhancing their agricultural productivity and improving value addition.
Also, it is set to embark on construction and rehabilitation of 13.16km farm access roads in four cluster areas across the state.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, disclosed this in Lagos at a press briefing in commemoration of the second year in office of the Sanwo-Olu’s administration in the state, at Alausa, Ikeja. ....
