South east London boasts some of the capital s best-loved pubs. But it has not been exempt from the sweep of pubs closing across the UK over recent decades. It has been estimated that more than 2,000 pubs across the UK may have had to end trading permanently in 2020 as lockdowns forced universal closures. This would be more than double the average number of pubs lost in recent years. (WHEC) An Irondequoit man is facing a prohibited weapon use charge after police say he fired off his gun and then went back to his house, which led to a neighborhood lockdown Saturday night. Irondequoit Police went to the scene of a shots fired call at a home on Brockley Road near Shelford Road around 8:40 p.m. They say the homeowner, Bogdan Baziuk had fired his gun but went back into his home, and police attempted to contact him. IPD says they were not able to make contact with Baziuk until Sunday morning, despite talking to him on the phone several times. ....
