SYDNEY, April 16 (Xinhua) A Brisbane and Seattle-based company said on Friday that a new therapeutic candidate for the treatment of COVID-19 patients will enter a clinical trial in the United States, led by Professor Ian Frazer, a former recipient of the Australian of the Year award.
Developed by biotechnology company Implicit Bioscience, the drug IC14 will be tested in more than 400 COVID-19 patients in 10 to 15 hospitals across the United States this week. Volunteer participants will be assigned at random to receive intravenous infusions of either IC14 or a placebo for four days.
