IRONTON â Several dozen people were indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury last week. Among those cases were felony 4 and felony 5 cases that frequently donât end up with prison time. David A. Wolford, 40, of the 200 block of Hamilton Street, Coal Grove, was charged with felony resisting arrest, domestic violence and using weapons while intoxicated. Austin L. Miller, 26, of Grayson, Kentucky, was charged with possession of drugs containing fentanyl. Michael A. Evans, 34, of the 300 block of Iowa Street, Westwood, was charged with felony resisting arrest and a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespassing. Rhonda L. James, 62, of Township Road 181, Ironton, was charged with two counts of theft of drugs. ....
IRONTON â An Ironton man was sentenced Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to 59 months in prison in a drug case. Judge Andy Ballard sentenced Jeremiah W. Jenkins, 20, of the 2400 block of South 5th Street, Ironton, after the defendant pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated trafficking in meth, attempted aggravated possession of 19 grams of meth and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. As part of a plea agreement, another drug charge was dismissed and Jenkins will be eligible for early release to a community-based correction system after serving two years in prison. The program at a community-based correction system can take up to 200 days to complete, but it can be done in about half that time. ....
