DTI inspects Metro cinemas, supermarkets in preparation for MGCQ

In preparation for the proposed transition of Metro Manila from General Community Quarantine (GCQ) to Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), DTI Consumer Protection Group (CPG) Undersecretary Ruth Castelo and DTI Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) Director Ronnel Abrenica led a special price and supply monitoring of Agricultural and Processed Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPC) in two supermarkets and two cinemas in Pasig City and Quezon City on 17 February 2021. 
The FTEB monitoring team reported compliance with RA 7581 or the Price Act by the 2 supermarkets, as the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities being sold therein are within the Suggested Retail Price (SRP) Bulletin dated 30 September 2019 published by the DTI.  ....

DTI Cebu assures public: Prices of goods stable

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cebu has assured consumers that prices of basic commodities remain stable despite the spike in demand during the recent holidays.
DTI Cebu officer-in-charge provincial director Esperanza Melgar said their weekly monitoring showed that prices of basic commodities have not increased.
“Prices are stable and within the Suggested Retail Price (SRP). The supply is also adequate,” she said.
Melgar said the DTI Cebu is still doing a weekly price monitoring of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPC) in establishments in key cities.
Monthly monitoring is also conducted in supermarkets and grocery stores for those in the municipalities. ....
