POTSDAM â Clarkson University is moving forward with plans to fully resume all regular campus operations in Potsdam, Schenectady and Beacon for the fall 2021 semester. Classes in Potsdam for the fall 2021 semester are scheduled to begin in person on Aug. 31, as originally posted pre-pandemic. Clarksonâs other campuses will follow schedules tailored for each graduate program. The fall 2021 plan is shaped by the universityâs continued commitment to an in-person experience for all students, expanded vaccine availability around the globe, and the ongoing recommendations of public health and other experts in response to COVID-19. âThe way our faculty, staff and students have responded during this pandemic has been incredible. Their diligence, flexibility, and creativity are what have allowed us to continue in-person education, research, and creative activities,â said President Tony Collins in a prepared statement from the college. ....

POTSDAM â Special banners were raised in downtown Potsdam Tuesday, designed to show appreciation and bring awareness to continuing efforts to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Clarkson President Tony Collins and SUNY Potsdam President Kristin Esterberg hailed the initiative as part of the ongoing community efforts to manage the pandemic in a press release issued by the colleges. The âOne Community, Working Together to Stop the Spreadâ banners show both universitiesâ logos and are hung throughout the downtown Potsdam area as a show of appreciation for the communityâs support of the colleges, and a reminder that we still need to work together to stop the spread of COVID-19. Monday, February 1, 2021 - 1:32 pm POTSDAM Clarkson University has teamed up with Precise Biometrics to install Precise’s YOUNiQ facial recognition for facility access in the North Country Incubator – part of Clarkson’s Shipley Center for Innovation. Following the installation, the 16 tenant companies with combined 150 employees will have access to the system which gives users access to the facilities using facial recognition technology, rather than the use of a traditional key or keycard. Precise YOUNiQ integrates face recognition with access control systems to provide convenient and secure access to facilities. The technology behind the product is based on artificial intelligence that confirms the individual’s identity through its unique facial features. ....
