MHS gym renovation moving forward

Monday evening marked the groundbreaking for the McClain High School gym renovation/expansion project. (HCP Photos/Stephen Forsha) Bri Weller finished 1-for-3 for the Lady Tigers, with a double in the fourth inning. • • HILLSBORO On a day where the temperature hovered around the mid-40s, the Hillsboro Lady Indians and McClain Lady Tigers battled at Alice Cassner Field in Frontier Athletic Conference action, in a game that was full of stellar pitching and only needed one run to cross home plate for the victory.

(HCP Photos/Stephen Forsha) Iva Easter • • • • • • • EBER The McClain Lady Tigers were unable to earn a season sweep of their Frontier Athletic Conference rival Miami Trace on Wednesday night, and in the process they dropped to second place in the FAC standings, falling by a 37-31 score.
McClain (7-2, 14-4) played excellent defense as they held Miami Trace to under 40 points, and the defense of Emma Stegbauer held Miami Trace scorer Magarah Bloom to zero points
