(HCP Photos/Stephen Forsha) Iva Easter • • • • • • • EBER The McClain Lady Tigers were unable to earn a season sweep of their Frontier Athletic Conference rival Miami Trace on Wednesday night, and in the process they dropped to second place in the FAC standings, falling by a 37-31 score.
McClain (7-2, 14-4) played excellent defense as they held Miami Trace to under 40 points, and the defense of Emma Stegbauer held Miami Trace scorer Magarah Bloom to zero points

It wasn’t pretty Friday night at Washington Senior High School as both teams combined for 52 turnovers, but the Miami Trace Lady Panthers picked up their first win in three years on the Lady Lions home court 44-29.
The first half was evenly played with Trace leading by one after the first quarter 5-4, and it continued to go back and forth through much of the half. Washington tied the game with three minutes remaining in the half at 15 points a piece until Trace closed out the half on a 9-0 run to take a 24-15 lead.
