A GRANDMA and great-grandma of 19 has celebrated a milestone birthday Nada Edwards, a resident at Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court Care Home, in Stisted, has celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her family, which she says is her “greatest love”. Nada worked at the docks for the Royal Army Corps as a young woman before marrying her husband, Richard, in 1945. They had met as teenagers at Scouts. The couple went on to have three children and 19 grandchildren and great grandchildren. When asked about her secret to a long and healthy life, Nada said her love of Guiding and being surrounded by young children has helped to keep her young at heart. ....

OVERJOYED families have finally been allowed to see their loved ones in care homes again. Residents can now receive visits from one family member or friend after lockdown rules were relaxed by the Government. Staff at Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court, in Stisted, say residents are delighted they can meet relatives in person again. Hundred-year-old Joan Chapman was one of the first when she was reunited with daughter Susan. Susan said: “It has been a whole year since I have been able to be with mum. It has been a very special day.” Joan added: “It’s such a great feeling to be reunited with my daughter again.” ....
