Westside Outlaws gang member sentenced in P.A. court to 4 years in prison

“Mr. Fox, you are a very young man, 20,” said Judge S. Loewen.
“You will be one of the youngest people at the penitentiary so you are going to have to guard yourself accordingly. You won’t be accepted by everybody and there are going to be problems. You are going to experience problems. The penitentiary is an extremely violent place.”

The Crown and defence entered a joint submission. Crown Prosecutor Doug Howell told the court that around 10 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2020, a 21-year-old man was stabbed at Boston Pizza. The victim had two stab wounds on his head and was taken to a hospital in Prince Albert and then put into a medically induced coma before being flown to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon in critical condition. ....

Waseca man pleads guilty in Meadow Lake court to trafficking drugs

Saskatoon defence lawyer Nicholas Stooshinoff asked the court for an adjournment in sentencing saying he is trying to get Yew’s charges from Alberta waived to Saskatchewan.
“I’m corresponding with the Crown in Edmonton trying to have those charges waived to Saskatchewan. I don’t know if we can get them waived here in a timely basis.”
Meadow Lake RCMP arrested Yew on May 16 following multiple complaints of a man using a metal pole to break windows at a residence on the 100 block of 7
th Avenue West. When police arrived, Yew fled the scene but was soon arrested.
Police say Yew was carrying a bag that contained about 42 grams of suspected cocaine, which he discarded when he fled. ....

Judge scolds former gang member for killing man in front of child

“What bothers me here is that a 10-year-old boy witnessed this and that will be seared into his memory I’m sure for the rest of his life and he had the unfortunate circumstance of watching,” said Judge Young. “That is very disturbing.”
North Battleford Crown Prosecutor Charlotte Morden told the court that Mooswa suffered 12 knife wounds and that a 17-centimetre wound to his right upper chest cut his aorta, causing his death.
After Stanley stabbed Mooswa, he fled the residence, and using a trail through the woods, went to another residence on Onion Lake. He discarded his bloody clothes but RCMP later recovered them. ....
