BC man injured after being attacked by bear while walking on trail
A BC man was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after being attacked by a bear on Friday.
According to the BC Conservation Officer Service, a man was walking along a trail during the afternoon on Mount Fromme when he was clawed at by a bear. The animal made contact with the man s body, injuring him in the process.
Thankfully, the man was with a group of hikers and the bear did not pursue him.
No one else was injured from the incident. The man quickly received medical attention and is recovering well.

A man was bitten on the leg by a suspected grizzly bear in Malakwa, northeast of Sicamous, on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the B.C. Conservation Officer Service, the man was walking his dogs on his rural property when one dog ran into the bush and there was a commotion. A lone bear came charging out of the bush and bit the man as his other dog engaged the animal.

HARRISON MILLS, B.C. Two cougars have been destroyed after a woman was seriously injured in an attack Tuesday morning in B.C. s Fraser Valley. The B.C. Conservation Officer Service s Predator Attack Team says the healthy, sub-adult male cougars were killed within 20 metres of where the woman was hurt. “The investigation has determined the attack was predatory in nature and unprovoked,” the BCCOS said in an email. The incident happened in a remote area about 10 kilometres up a logging road northwest of Harrison Hot Springs. The victim was on her own property at the time. Conservation officer Sgt. Todd Hunter said a man heard the woman’s screams for help and chased the cougar off.
