A prominent British television presenter has been slammed for making Prince Philip s upcoming funeral an issue of race.
Jeremy Vine, the host of a self-titled chat show on BBC 5, was discussing the death of Queen Elizabeth s husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, and the drastically scaled-down formalities because of Covid-19.
He then posed a question to one of his guests, Shay Grewal, a radio star, relating to the small number of attendees that furious critics believe amounts to race-baiting . ....

The irresistible call of a lavish Easter feast in Sicily landed a prominent mobster behind bars on Sunday after authorities arrested him as he was returning to the Mediterranean island from Brazil to celebrate with family.

Obasanjo, Sheikh Gumi recommend special courts for banditry

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and a prominent religious leader in the North, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, have recommended special courts to try bandits and kidnappers promptly.
Both Obasanjo and Gumi stated this in a jointly signed communiqué issued after a closed-door meeting at the Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, on Sunday.
Gumi, who led some northern religious leaders to Obasanjo’s residence in Abeokuta, arrived around 11am and left at 4pm.
He declined to speak to newsmen when asked the reason for his visit.
But in a 21-point communiqué jointly issued by Obasanjo and Gumi, they urged the Federal Government to take the issue of insecurity up within the Economic Community of West African States. ....

A rich-lister has told a jury he was convinced he would win any court case after being accused of indecent assault.
Despite the confidence, he claims he also engaged what he thought were the services
of a prominent political figure and PR firm to prevent damage to his reputation and media exposure.
The wealthy businessman is on trial accused of indecently assaulting three men in the early 2000s,2008 and 2016.
He is also charged with twice trying to pervert the course of justice by offering a bribe for the 2016 complainant - the first of the three to go to police - to drop their allegations. ....
