Kolkata: Discontent among Bharatiya Janata Party supporters has been brewing, as the party inducts leaders from the Trinamool Congress, Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Congress almost daily in Bengal. On March 15, hundreds of BJP supporters held all-day protests outside the party’s election office in Hastings, south Kolkata, for fielding turncoats as BJP candidates.
Their anger was clearly visible when senior BJP leaders like national vice-president Mukul Roy, MP from Barrackpore Arjun Singh and national general secretary Shiv Prakash were heckled by the protestors while they were entering the party office. ....

West Bengal Assembly Election 2021: BJP To Complain Against Mamata Banerjee, Says Spreading Lies About Attack

Bengal Assembly Polls: Mamata Banerjee alleged she was pushed by 4 or 5 people against her car.
New Delhi/Kolkata:
A day after Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged an attack in which she suffered injuries to her leg and neck, a vitriolic blame-game saw both her party and the BJP calling for an investigation. In letters to the Election Commission, the Trinamool Congress alleged a deep-rooted conspiracy to take the life of its chief and the BJP, which has accused Mamata Banerjee of lying about the attack, called for video footage to establish facts.
The Trinamool, alleging a gruesome attack on the Chief Minister, said an attempt was made on her life within 24 hours of the removal of the Bengal police chief by the Election Commission without the state government being consulted. The party alleged a nexus between the BJP s complaints against the sacked police chief and the police being absent at the time of the incident. The party also claimed it had been ....

Why the Display of IAF s Machismo on the Balakot Strike Anniversary Was Uncalled For
Brashly brandishing our achievements, merely to publicly boost ourselves and publicise them for other unstated reasons is avoidable,” a two-star IAF officer said.

Kolkata: Elections are crystal-ball-gazing times. Predicting how voters will exercise their choice is tricky, more so when the topography of politics is changing from a tradition of conscious and consensually managed secular competition to polarisation along communally divided identities.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has succeeded in installing itself as the pivot in all conversations, which going by the reputation of West Bengal as highly politically conscious, could be at least once every day, at home, at work, travelling or shopping. In building a perception about its chances of winning the 2021 state assembly elections, the BJP has made the act of choosing an almost absolutely predictable event, converting the process into a confirmation of what the so-called ‘everyone’ ....
