Hopkinton architecture firm hires assistant project manager Community Content Hopkinton-based Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects has hired Jorge Gomez as the firm’s architecture studio assistant project manager. Gomez comes to GRLA with a breadth of architectural and interior design experience, having worked on multiple residential projects throughout Massachusetts and New York as well as commercial and healthcare projects. Gomez holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Boston Architectural College and a Master of Arts in Interior Architecture degree with a focus on Adaptive Reuse from the Rhode Island School of Design. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1999-2005 as a member of 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Reserve unit and was called for duty as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002. ....

Along the way he was celebrated for founding two firms that were owned and run by Black architects at a time when there were few such architects, let alone firms, in the country. Ultimately, Mr. Stullâs designs are more visible and enduring in Greater Boston than those of most architects from his era. ....

Cara Armstrong, director of Norwich University’s School of Architecture+Art and Design+Build Collaborative has published “A Trick of Living,” a book of digital sketches and poems. The digital sketching adventure began for Armstrong, who also teaches classes in design and architecture, when she was issued an iPad as part of Norwich’s iPad initiative in 2019. Posts of her sketches on Facebook drew a modest following and the attention of Big Table Publishing Co. Acquisitions Editor Robin Stratton, who asked Armstrong whether she had thought of making a book. ....
