POSEY CO., Ind. (WFIE) - Authorities in Posey County had arrest warrants in hand Friday morning as they rounded up several suspects on drug charges.
Reporter Brady Williams rode along with some of the deputies as they made those arrests.
The Posey County Drug Task Force had help from the Posey County Prosecutor’s Office, Posey County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Vernon Police Department, Indiana State Police, Evansville Police Department, Evansville-Vanderburgh County Joint Drug Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation – Safe Streets Task Force, Vincennes Police Department, New Harmony Police Department and Indiana Conservation Officer.

POSEY CO., Ind. (WFIE) - The Posey County Prosecutor says 30-year-old Casey Allen Ellis, of Wadesville, will serve prison time for failing to abide by the laws required of sex offenders.
Ellis was in court Wednesday morning where he was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender, a Level 5 Felony.
The prosecutor says Ellis fled to Kentucky for two months and did not register as a sex offender as required by law.

MT. VERNON, Ind. (WFIE) - The Posey County Sheriffâs Office has added a few paws to its patrol.
Deputy McKinney and the K9 named Basco have completed their certification.
The sheriffâs office made the announcement Friday on its Facebook page.
The pair will begin their first shift together on Wednesday evening.
In the social media post, department officials wrote itâs a great day as they move forward in taking steps to better the county.
