GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN - Volvoâs dedicated electric car brand Polestar has announced its intention to create the worldâs first âtruly climate neutralâ car by the year 2030.
This of course, entails far more than just putting a car on the market with zero tailpipe emissions, which Polestar and many other carmakers have already done in any case.
âWeâre electric, so we donât have to worry about combustion engines producing toxic emissions â but that doesnât mean our job is done,â says Polestarâs Head of Sustainability, Fredrika KlarÃ©n. ....

Polestar, the Volvo sister brand that specialises in electric performance cars, has promised to deliver the world’s first truly ‘climate-neutral’ car by 2030.
Confirmed for an Australian launch by the end of this year, before online orders and deliveries for the mid-size Polestar 2 fastback commence in early 2022, Polestar says it aims to drive “design towards zero” by eliminating emissions rather than offsetting CO2 by planting trees.
