A motorcyclist was airlifted to UPMC Altoona Saturday afternoon following a crash on State Route 949.
State Police in Marienville say the accident happened at Spring Creek Road in Heath Township of Jefferson County when 59-year-old Karlton M. Palmer of Ridgway lost control of the motorcycle while attempting to negotiate a curve in the roadway.
Police say Palmer then fell off the vehicle and off of the west berm into a parking lot area. The vehicle slid to the west berm before coming to a final rest.
Palmer suffered injuries of unknown severity and was transported to UPMC Altoona via Jefferson County EMS and STAT MedEvac.
