The committee also intercepted 24 cartons of expired drugs and two cartons of expired biscuits valued at over N1million at Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi market. Rabiu Sule, the Chairman, State Taskforce on Counterfeit and Fake Drugs, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday, in Kano. x “The agency will be charged with the responsibility of checking the menace of drug abuse, particularly the harmful effects, by drug addicts, in addition to the enrolment of those eligible to be reformed. “The government plans to also establish rehabilitation centres, in addition to the existing Reformatory Centre in Kiru”, he said. ....

The Chairman of the task force, Mr Ghali Sule, who disclosed this on Sunday in Kano, said that the first consignment was intercepted at Malam Kato Motor Park. According to him, the second consignment was discovered at the Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi Market. He said that the seized drugs would be handed over to the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for further investigations. ....
