The much-awaited COVID-19 vaccination programme began on a slow pace across the 48 session sites in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Saturday as Sankaranti holidays came in the way of inoculation to all the registered health professionals.
“There has been no adverse event after inoculation of vaccine in SPSR Nellore and Prakasam districts as of now,” according to health officials. ....

Vaccination trial run passes off smoothly in South Coastal A.P.

New cases in the region reach a new low of 10
COVID-19 vaccination dry run was conducted successfully in six selected places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Saturday even as fresh coronavirus cases declined in the region.
The participation of the beneficiaries was 100% in the three health centres in SPSR Nellore district held under the overall supervision of District Collector K.V.N.Chakradhar Babu.
Minute details were taken care of during the trial run at the Varikunta Public Health Centre, Krantinagar Urban Health Centre and Narayana Medical College Hospital to ensure an error-free vaccination programme later this month, said SPSR Nellore Medical and Health Officer S.Rajyalakshmi told ....

Minister inaugurates 50-bed Mother and Child Hospital
State Energy Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday said that the medical infrastructure in the State would be given a facelift to provide better health services to people.
Inaugurating the upgraded Mother and Child Hospital here into a 50-bed hospital, he commended the health professionals for effectively handling the health situation in the district.
The Government General Hospital, the nodal medical centre to treat COVID-19 patients, would be developed into a super-speciality hospital, he said during the review meeting of the Hospital Development Committee with District Collector Pola Bhaskar and other medical officers. ....
