LIVERMORE, CA The Livermore Police Department is searching for a driver who accelerated toward an officer during a traffic stop, disabled the officer s motorcycle, and led law enforcement on a pursuit, police said.
The officer sustained injuries in the incident but has since been treated and released.
If arrested, the driver would likely face charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and felony evasion of a police officer, said Officer Taylor Burruss, spokesperson for the Livermore Police Department.
Authorities are looking for a driver accused of backing over a Livermore Police Department motorcycle, hurting the officer who had to jump out of the way, before speeding away from the scene late Friday morning.

Ventura police arrested a 22-year-old man after he was suspected of shooting a gun inside an occupied residence early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The shots fired call was made at 1:48 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Portola Avenue, according to the Ventura Police Department.
Police arrived on scene and evacuated the residents from the home, including one elderly resident. The suspected shooter, identified as Riley Regan, 22, of Ventura, was detained at the scene
Through an investigation, authorities determined Regan was handling a rifle while he was intoxicated and shot a round through the floor of the second-floor bedroom. The bullet traveled through the floor and wound up lodged into the kitchen sink, authorities said.
