The National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP) has said no to postponing local elections. The association today said that the next municipal elections should be held between September 22 and October 14, as provided for by Electoral Law. Elderly residents living in nursing homes can vote for the presidential elections in the institution where they live, but must register on the platform for early voting by 17 January, the Government announced.

The National Election Commission (CNE) has launched a Voting is safe campaign to encourage people to vote in the upcoming elections in Portugal.
