A WOMAN found dead in her home on Christmas Eve was found by a care assistant. Michelle Lamb was found dead in Romsey flat in Chamber s Avenue on December 24, 2019. An inquest was opened into to determine the cause of her death. The 53-year-old, who previously lived in Andover, was a loving mum to Dillon and sister to Paul, Dave and Sidney. Her funeral was held on January 15, 2020, at Test Valley Crematorium, Romsey, and her family asked for donations to Leonard Cheshire Disability. Area coroner at Portsmouth Coroner s Court, Christopher Wilkinson, told the court that Ms Lamb had been found dead by a care assistant. ....
A father described as “kind and generous” took his own life after losing his job after raising concerns about ‘stressful conditions’ at SSE, an inquest has heard. David Richard Bignell complained to his GP that he was refused annual leave and was working longer hours than he was paid for, Portsmouth Coroner’s Court was told. The father was sacked in 2019 by the company which caused anxiety and financial pressures on his family, it emerged at an inquest on Tuesday (February 16). David was found dead on September 12, 2020, after leaving his family home in Andover and not responding to calls to his phone. ....

Thatcham care home resident died of Covid and cancer A VULNERABLE care home resident caught coronavirus and died in hospital from breathing failures and underlying cancer, an inquest heard. Richard Anthony Morecock, aged 54, passed away at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital in April, at the peak of the first wave of the pandemic. At an inquest into his death on Tuesday, January 26, Portsmouth Coroner s Court was told it was believed Mr Morecock had come into close contact with someone who had coronavirus at Thornford Park care home in Crookham Hill, Thatcham, before he was admitted to hospital. Mr Morecock, who was diagnosed with stomach cancer and brain thrombosis in December 2019, was receiving full-time care at the home. He was identified as a person at risk of catching coronavirus and an assessment plan was carried out which recommended he self-isolated for 12 weeks from March 24, 2020. ....
A man suffering from diabetes took his own life because he “could not bear the thought” of self-isolating during the first lockdown, an inquest has heard. Daniel Furniss, who also suffered from depression, was found dead at his home in Waterlooville, Hampshire, on March 27, a few days after the country was ordered to stay at home in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
