Thursday Thunder Is Back! What To Expect At The Summer Concert Series
Fourth of July may be over, but there is still a ton to look forward to this summer. And fewer things are more fun than attending a concert. Well, maybe eating and drinking. But you don t have to choose because the Thursday Thunder Summer Concert Series is back. Every Thursday through August 26th you can catch live entertainment at the Boise Spectrum and enjoy a fun summer night. Feel free to bring your own chair to relax as you take it in. Best of all, it s free to watch the musical performances. Here s the line up for the season:

Boise offers so many ways for families to cool down when things start to heat up. Swimming at Lucky Peak, Eagle Island or Quinn s Pond. Taking a dip in one of the public pools. Screaming as you plunge down Snake River Run at Roaring Springs. Running through one of the splash pads around the Treasure Valley.

But, if you know what else we can do this summer that was a little difficult to do in 2020? Grab a giant tub of popcorn, a soda that s the size of a bucket and bask in the cool AC of a movie theater. With the exception of mom and pop theater, Overland Park Cinemas, most theaters in the Treasure Valley were closed until August. Some even went through a second closure in October.

Beloved macaroni and cheese utopia, Mad Mac, announced the closure of their brick and mortar location via Facebook on Thursday morning. Like so many other local businesses, they ve had a hard time finding enough employees to staff both the restaurant location and their incredibly popular food truck. In the post, the owners explained that using the staff they do have to staff the food truck is a better use of their resources. They re excited to get the truck out into more locations around the Treasure Valley and will share their schedule via their social media pages frequently.

BOISE, Idaho â Local small business owners are grappling with the current labor shortage. It s causing them to adjust their store hours or closed on certain days during the week.
Rhi Hoisington opened Mad Mac, a macaroni and cheese restaurant, a little more than three years ago at the Boise Spectrum Center.
âI owned Mad Mac for five years and we started out with the food truck,â Hoisington said.
Like many small business owners, Hoisington is trying to move forward after facing struggles brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic but the current situation doesnât look bright.
