Bundy Back Behind Bars in Ada County
Perhaps Idaho s most well-known conservative activist is back behind bars at the Ada County Jail this afternoon.
You may know the name Ammon Bundy . He s been around stirring up attention for various initiatives for years and during the COVID-19 pandemic, he has really garnered a lot of attention. Bundy and those who follow his movement had, on multiple occasions, organized gatherings to protest decisions being made by local health authorities. During one instance, Bundy and his crew met at the Southwest District Health offices where they demanded to be let into the meeting. Meeting guidelines were clearly set however some felt the need to push their way into the health district offices.

This week brings us here in the Treasure Valley to an entire year of navigating COVID-19 together. You may recall as the news showed the spread of the virus, Idaho was one of the very last states to see a positive case. As many major cities, events, and sports leagues had began to shut down already, it was a only a matter of time before we felt that here in Boise, as well.

If you would have told us a year ago that FACE MASKS would be both sold on every street corner and the most controversial things ever, we may not have believed you.

It doesn t take a rocket scientist to know that there has been a lot of debate around masks here in the Treasure Valley. After November s election cycle, two Republicans took over two seats among the Ada County Commissioners. Many assumed that this would mean a vast shift on the Central District Health s Board of Health. It did. When I was growing up right here in the Treasure Valley, things were pretty different and it wasn t even that long ago! I was a Nampa kid that went to Bishop Kelly High School in Boise. That meant I had a commute. each morning be it by the Nampa Bishop Kelly commuter bus or if sports were in session, I was driving. I had that commute down to an art. If you got on the I-84 at 6:59 a.m. it was smooth sailing. If you were getting on the I-84 at about 7:03 a.m. or later. you were going to be late true story! Back when, as the locals will tell you, there was hardly anything built next to the freeway!
