SEREMBAN: Police have opened an investigation paper to probe into allegations that a female celebrity’s photo, which recently went viral, was taken when she was in the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division room of the Nilai District Police Headquarters (IPD).
Nilai District Police chief Supt Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said in a statement that the celebrity had lodged a police report at the Nilai IPD on Wednesday.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1988 for improper use of network facilities or network service. ....

Politician's wife faces gallows over trafficking charge

KUALA LUMPUR: A politician s wife is facing the gallows after being charged in an Ampang magistrate s court here with three drug-related offences, including trafficking cannabis.
Lyiana Roslee, 34, who is jointly accused with another person yet to be charged, allegedly trafficked in 1,580.4g of cannabis.
She also faces a second charge of trafficking 7.87 litres of cannabis in liquid form.
The offences were allegedly committed at a house on Jalan Duta Suria, 1 Duta Residency in Ampang, at 7.30pm on Jan 20.
The charges, under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, carry the death penalty or life imprisonment, with no fewer than 15 strokes of the rotan, upon conviction. ....

Kota Kinabalu: Police arrested two men and seized syabu weighing 16.74 kg worth RM669,803 in a raid here last Tuesday (Dec 29).
Kota Kinabalu district police chief ACP Habibi Majinji said in the 6.35 pm raid around the Lido Four Seasons Residence area here, the suspects, aged 28 and 31, were nabbed by members of the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the district police headquarters here.
Police managed to seize 17 plastic packages containing syabu in a four-wheel Ford Ranger vehicle. Each package was hidden in a neatly wrapped box believed to be distributed to buyers. ....
