Professionals warn Lanka not to be lulled into complacency over US withdrawal of MCC

AG undergoes PCR testing

By Dinasena Ratugamage One hundred and sixty seven persons, including Attorney General Dappula de Livera, were subjected to PCR tests on Wednesday as two persons present at a recent event they attended tested positive for COVID-19. Deputy Director of Health Services – Vavuniya, S. Mahendran said the test results came on Thursday night and none of them had contracted COVID-19. A large number of people including state officials attended the opening of a new AG’s Department building in Irattaperiyakulam, Vavuniya on Dec 10 . AG de Livera was the Chief Guest at the event. Later, it was found that a lawyer and a policeman in attendance had contracted COVID-19. Those who attended were placed under self-quarantine and subjected to PCR testing.
