The Westchester County Department of Economic Development has partnered with Lightpath, the fiber-based bandwidth technology company, to provide 100 free data licenses to participants in the Launch1000 program. These free internet hookups, made possible by the generous support of Lightpath, will provide many entrepreneurs in Westchester with the connectivity needed to bring their business plans to life.
County Executive George Latimer said: “The Launch1000 program is a new idea aimed at supporting the innovative minds in our own backyard. Thanks to this support from Lightpath, participants in this program have another opportunity to succeed.” ....

Westchester County Executive George Latimer is proud to announce the promotion of Martha Lopez to serve as Director of Minority and Women-owned Business Development.
Lopez, who from 2001 to 2009 served as the Director for Hispanic Affairs for Westchester County and currently serves as Director of Program and Policy for MWBE and Immigrant Affairs, will begin her new role on February 1, 2021
Latimer said: “Martha is a consistent advocate for improving the lives of Westchester residents – both while on the County team and in her personal life. This new role will allow her to expand her opportunities to serve our community and make real, tangible, positive change in the lives of the people who call Westchester home.” ....

For the second year in a row, Westchester County Executive George Latimer has cut the Westchester County tax levy by $1 million dollars. Latimer signed the budget flanked by nurses at the Westchester County Health Department Clinic highlighting the unprecedented year that 2020 has been, and the extraordinary work of our healthcare professionals.
In the midst of a crippling pandemic and an economic downtown, Latimer kept his promise to the people of Westchester and signed the 2021 budget not only cutting taxes, but also maintaining all County services, and cutting expenditures by $15.7 million dollars in the $2.091 billion dollar budge ....
